What Is Deuces Wild

The Card Game That Rewards Strategy

Deuces Wild is a variant of video poker where every 2 — all four of them — acts as a wild card that can substitute for any other card in the deck to complete a winning hand. That single rule change turns an already engaging card game into something genuinely strategic, where understanding which cards to hold and which to discard makes a measurable difference to your long-term results.

At pak98, Deuces Wild is one of the most consistently popular games among players from Lahore and Karachi who enjoy card games but want something they can approach with skill rather than pure luck. Unlike slots where every spin is entirely random, Deuces Wild rewards players who study basic strategy — and the correctly played full-pay version returns over 100% RTP, making it one of the few casino games that mathematically favours an informed player.

Whether you are a seasoned video poker player visiting pak98 from Islamabad, or completely new to the format and just getting started, this page covers everything you need — hand rankings, strategy fundamentals, variants, and how to get your first session going with a JazzCash deposit.

Hand Rankings

Deuces Wild Winning Hands

Because 2s are wild, the standard hand ranking table shifts — three-of-a-kind becomes the minimum paying hand, and new combinations like Five of a Kind enter the chart.

1
Natural Royal Flush
800× bet — top prize without any wild cards
2
Four Deuces
200× bet — holding all four 2s is a massive payout
3
Wild Royal Flush
25× bet — Royal Flush completed with at least one deuce
4
Five of a Kind
15× bet — only possible because of wild deuces
5
Straight Flush
9× bet — five consecutive suited cards
6
Four of a Kind
5× bet — very achievable with wild cards in play
7
Full House
3× bet — three of a kind plus a pair
8
Flush
2× bet — five cards of the same suit
9
Straight
2× bet — five consecutive cards, any suit
10
Three of a Kind
1× bet — minimum qualifying hand in Deuces Wild

Note on pay tables: Multipliers shown above reflect the standard full-pay Deuces Wild table available at pak98. Always check the in-game pay table before your session, as variant pay tables exist and affect the overall RTP.

Basic Strategy

Strategy Guide for Deuces Wild

The core principle of Deuces Wild strategy is straightforward: your decisions should always depend on how many deuces you are holding. A hand with three wild cards plays completely differently from a hand with none. pak98 recommends all new players memorise at minimum the zero-deuce and one-deuce strategy paths before playing for real money.

Players in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi who approach Deuces Wild as a skill game — rather than a luck-based slot equivalent — consistently report longer sessions and more consistent returns. The table to the right summarises the most important hold decisions across each deuce-count scenario.

Pro tip: Never discard a deuce. Ever. Regardless of what the rest of your hand looks like, a 2 is always worth more as a wild card than any non-wild card combination you might be chasing.

Hold Priority by Deuce Count
Deuces Held Priority Hold Decision Level
0 Deuces Natural Royal Flush — hold all 5 Critical
0 Deuces Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, Full House — hold Critical
0 Deuces 4-card Royal Flush draw — hold 4, discard 1 High
0 Deuces Three of a Kind — hold, discard other 2 High
0 Deuces 4-card Straight Flush — hold 4 Medium
0 Deuces One pair — hold pair, discard rest Medium
0 Deuces Nothing useful — discard all 5 Low
1 Deuce Keep the deuce + any paying combination Critical
1 Deuce 4-card Wild Royal Flush draw — hold 4 Critical
1 Deuce 4-card Straight Flush — hold 4 High
1 Deuce No strong draw — hold deuce only, discard 4 Medium
2 Deuces Keep both deuces + paying hand if present Critical
2 Deuces No strong draw — hold both deuces only High
3 Deuces Hold all 3 unless you have a Royal or Five-of-a-Kind Critical
4 Deuces Hold all 4 deuces — always, no exceptions Critical
